HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters)
A love of learning begins at home.
HIPPY's mission is to help parents prepare their children for success in school and beyond. The model supports parents as their child's first teacher by giving them the tools, skills, and confidence to teach their young children at home.
HIPPY provides in-home training and resources to help parents engage their preschoolers in fun, interactive activities. The curriculum focuses on critical skills including reading, writing, mathematics, science, language development, and social/emotional development.
Home Visitors complete 30 weekly home visits per family, each lasting 45–60 minutes. Six group meetings are offered each year to encourage families to learn together and build lasting friendships.
